Education Forum

The Trips Seminar Education form will be in the morning 8-10am Saturday May 16th. This is part of the trips seminar. This year we wanted to continue a few education topics, and added a few new ones. Please come prepared to have fun and learn from the other clubs ! The trips seminar starts right after the education sessions.

*** 8:15 AM to 9:15 AM ***
MARKETING and WEB SITE DESIGN (Chicago 1)
Sally Hed returns to talk about “Google Juice” and how to market your club using the web and other methods.

CLUB Leadership and Membership – Keeping and Growing (Chicago 2)
Paul Webber of PRW Group, one of our exhibitors, will moderate our Club Membership session, including discussions between the attendees on topics chosen from a short survey upon entering the meeting room. Participants will be able to share their problems, questions, ideas and solutions. A problem that exists in one club may have been solved in another, and the knowledge that a solution led to success elsewhere can be enough incentive to attempt a course of action. The opportunity to further network during lunch and the beer party with contacts made in this session may prove to be invaluable to your club.

Airlines – what to know (Rosemont)
The airline consolidation has created challenges for everyone, and the clubs in particular. We will learn about the upcoming ski season and the have strategies for the clubs to use.

*** 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM ***
Website setup and design (Chicago 1)
Following Sally’s presentation, Rick Drew (CMSC BoD) will take a more focused look at the website mechanics. The intent of this session is to help the broad base of clubs with the more geeky side of website design questions. A Q&A to answer any questions you may have about your club website, the CMSC site and/or CMSC club data management area.

Multi club trips (Chicago 2)
Ed Gordon will lead the discussion on bringing multiple clubs together for a single trip. SKI (pronounced ess-kay-eye) is CMSC's sole Member Ski Council, and is made up of ski clubs from central Illinois. An initial inability for the individual clubs to get enough sign-ups for certain destinations led the clubs to work together to get over the minimum group size requirements. SKI's first council trip was 8 years ago to Mt. Bachelor and council trips have been successfully held each year since.

CMSC Trips ! (Rosemont)

Hear from Randy about our Europe trip. Randy will talk about the location, resort, and answer questions you might have about the trip.

The second session is on the CMSC Ski Week to Whistler presented by co- trip leaders Vicky Schutz and Sue Finis. What’s the process to for the clubs to sign up? Details on the trip and planning for the clubs and members.
