Read on….. A little history: The Dutch Caribbean is a group of constituent countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Regardless of their official status, these countries still strongly identify with the Netherlands, perhaps none more than Curaçao. The Dutch West India Company founded the capital of Willemstad in the 17th century. Instead of being ignored or hidden, Willemstad is the focal point of a trip to Curaçao, as it should be. This UNESCO World Heritage City is a beautifully preserved and historic town, famous for its multi-colored Dutch-style buildings along the waterfront. Walking through the town is a great way to explore this vibrant and culturally diverse capital city. Distinctive architecture, museums, monuments, and world-class shopping await. You can visit the swinging Queen Emma Bridge or the fascinating Kurá Hulanda Museum, as well as plenty of beachfront nightclubs. Don’t miss exploring and shopping at the floating market. (The complimentary shuttle departs from the resort twice a day, Monday – Saturday).
