CMSC - Trips In Review

Europe 2020
January 31 - February 11
Grindelwald, Switzerland and Athens, Greece

Chicago Week The first week of February 2020 we left Chicago with 78 people from 24 CMSC clubs, for the CMSC Europe trip to Grindelwald, Switzerland and Athens, Greece. We love Swiss International Air Lines for their good service, free drinks and our skis fly free, though only about 10 of our group brought skis this year.

A short senic 2-hour bus trip took us to Grindelwald where we checked into the 4* Hotel Kreuz & Post. The hotel was chosen for its beautiful, old world charm, fantastic staff, and great food. Our package included half pension, which was daily breakfast buffet and four course dinners.

Chicago Week Although we skied in the rain all day on Sunday, leaving us icy conditions on Monday, it snowed all day Tuesday and into the night leaving great snow for the last three ski days.
We continued with our extension to Athens and the beautiful 4 Hotel Amalia. We had a guided tour of Ancient Greece including the UNESCO-listed Acropolis of Athens, a visit to the New Acropolis Museum, the grand ruins of the Parthenon, and more. February is the perfect time to visit Athens. The daytime temperatures were in the 50s and the crowds were exceedingly small. The tour guide was able to show and tell us much more because there was no waiting and no crowds blocking our views. I strongly recommend Athens for any group trip..

The 2021 CMSC Europe Trip is going to be at Val-d'Isère, France with an extension to Barcelona, Spain.
