Yeee Haww, Ride-em Cowboy/Cowgirl! Was our theme. We had a rip-roaring,
boot-slapping, fantastic time at CMSC Chicago Week 2025 in Jackson Hole! 11 clubs
with 135 participants joined the fun filled week of non-stop partying and skiing. We
stayed at the Elk Country Inn and the 49-er Inn & Suites, both with a complimentary
breakfast and bus rides to the mountain. Thanks to everyone for the great
participation and creativity with your Yee Haw Cowboy/Cowgirl wear this year.
Saturday, arrival day, we had 4 flights arrive and our 6 buses/vans transported most
to our lodging properties. Arrivals were early and the airport was only 30 minutes
away. Our skiers had plenty of time to get acclimated to the town. Check out the
wildlife hanging around homes in town! In the evening, many enjoyed each other's
company at Big Hole and Bubbas for BBQ.
Sunday was not only the start of a wonderful week of skiing, but our moose friends
joined us around Teton Village and at the lifts! Yes, two moose were trotting up and
down the lift area, minding their own business. Then, one decided to snack at Mangy
Moose (how appropriate!). It was a sight to see and they were the talk of the trip!
Aside from the moose, our first ski day was fantastic with plenty of snow 😊
The Sunday Welcome Party was hosted at Roosevelts, and what a nice venue it was! The
food was plentiful with an extensive variety of hot, tasty appetizers, as well as
multiple desserts and drinks. Many joined in the fun with their “Yee Haw, Ride ‘em
Cowboy/Cowgirl” wear. Check out our cowboys 🤠! CMSC Trip Leaders Mike
and Vicki conducted a raffle with donations from Viking, SkiGroup.Net, Jackson Hole,
Snowlike Studios, and our Pub Crawl partners. Thank you for your donations!
Monday was a jam-packed activity day. First, was the race on Après-Vous mountain at
Jackson Hole where 51 skiers joined in the fun. A variety of categories were
included such as “fastest” male & female in various age categories, and closest to
match their own time. The race was followed by lunch and photos at Casper lodge on
the mountain. The photographer did a great job and sent us a link for the photos.
Our traditional Monday Night Pub Crawl finished off the day's events where two of
our crawlers on the left were ready to go! Aside from those two characters, over 100
crawlers joined the fun. Our featured pubs included Hand Fire Pizza, Snake River
Brewing, Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, Silver Dollar Bar, the Roadhouse, Code Red, and
Bin 22. So many places in Jackson!
Tuesday, our Après Ski took us to the famous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, where we had
our own area to have a cocktail and eat gourmet appetizers. Some also chose to
saddle up to the bar to sit in the saddles for a cocktail. There was a band playing
after the event, and a few of our people stayed to enjoy the live music.
Wednesday was a perfect blue bird ski day for our Grand Targhee side trip. 60 skiers
from 10 clubs boarded the buses bright and early for the 1.5 hour ride up the
beautiful Teton pass, followed by a day of skiing enjoyment! We had such fun and
sun, many skiers were ready to stay the rest of the week in Grand Targhee!
For another day off option, many took an excursion to the close-by Elk Refuge. A
horse drawn carriage took us through the refuge to view ~2500 Elk! We were even
lucky enough to watch two elk sparring with each other.
Our Thursday night banquet was held at Snow King Resort, where we were treated to a
delicious buffet dinner, drinks, and danced the night away! Yee Haww decorations
filled the room, and cameras were flashing!
Along with the race awards and raffles, our costume contest was very well attended
this year. To wrap up the evening, we had one surprise announcement from Piccadilly
Ski Club - one of their members conquered Corbet's Coulier . . . . . on a snowboard!
Friday, we wrapped up the week with our last Après Ski at Hand Fire Pizza, located
in the old Teton Theatre. Hand-made pizzas came out of the wood fired oven very
fresh with a great variety to choose from. Nobody left hungry 😊.
Great ski stories every day. The events were super fun, and we had plenty of snow!
Thanks to SkiGroup.net for a great trip.
Until next year, everyone, when we will gather together for a new adventure in SNOWMASS, CO!
Thanks for joining the trip, Vicki & Mike
Below are some group photos
from the trip - unfortunately
two clubs missed out
on the photos.
