The Chicago Latvian Ski Club includes many Latvian-Americans from Chicagoland as well as SW Michigan. The club, which first came together in 1958, had a 50+ year run before taking a brief hiatus. A younger generation of Latvian-Americans resurrected the club in February 2020 with 80 people attending an informal gathering at Crystal Mountain in Michigan. The success of that event led to the reformation of the Chicago Latvian Ski Club. This family friendly club is for people who enjoy skiing, a little bit of NASTAR competition and socializing with great friends. The club's latest event happened in February 2024 at Schuss Mountain, Michigan with 145 participants and 54 NASTAR competitors.
