A brand new quad chairlift, originally used at the
Vancouver Olympic Games to transport spectators, will
be moved this summer to Sunshine Village in Banff,
Alberta. The Doppelmayr lift will replace the Strawberry
Triple Lift, a 35-year-old chair riddled with maintenance
problems and unable to run at full capacity. The new
quad lift is said to carry 1,800 guests per hour, a vast
improvement from the Strawberry. The Doppelmayr will
run the same course as the Strawberry, only longer.
