who had been to Europe on many
previous trips and were used to skiing
the very long ski runs there. We marketed
this as a trip for advanced or strong
           intermediate skiers. Given the program
we had, we could not afford to be waiting
           for anyone lagging behind.

The plan worked perfectly. We were
able to see and ski seven of the 12
resorts, three of them entirely new to us.
Mr. Peretti saw to it that we skied just
about all of the ski runs in each of these
new resorts. We also learned more about
how to get around the Dolomites and
connect to the other five resorts that we
had not skied. The ski resorts and the
skiing were good, the scenery was spec-
tacular, the rifugios were very nice (with
           modern bathrooms), and the breakfasts
and dinners that were included with the
rifugios were excellent. Giorgio was great.

One advantage of staying in a rifugio
on the top of a mountain (besides the
beautiful sunsets) is that you get to make
the first run down the mountain in the
morning, if you leave early enough. The
only thing that did not go as planned
was that we were not able to ski on two
off-pistes routes that were planned for
two separate days due to the lack of
snow on those particular routes. The
snow on the marked pistes in every
resort was in very good condition
           because of the extensive snowmaking
           and excellent grooming.

Please note that you don't have to be an
expert or advanced skier to do this type of
trip. It can be tailor-made to fit the groups’
ability and ambition, from a few short
connections and a couple of resorts to
many connections and many resorts. For
example, you could connect Cortina with
the Civetta area, Cortina with the Sella-
Ronda area or the Sella-Ronda area with
the Civetta area, with three days in each
           resort, thereby lessening the moving
around and allowing more time to ski
each area. Or you could connect Cortina,
Civetta and the Sella-Ronda areas with
two days in each resort; or you could
           connect........the possibilities are many.
All you need is a group of people who
get along with each other, are willing to
move around from place to place with a
minimum amount of clothes and are
           looking for an adventure. ❄
